Leavers brings together photographs from Lewis Khan's ongoing project, begun in 2018, documenting the prom night of a south London secondary school.
The book is composed entirely of frames from Leavers (2021), Khan's Super 8 film made as part of the wider project. Taken from the original film negatives, the photographs capture a fleeting moment between adolescence and adulthood, an evening of celebration and self-expression. Together, they present a portrait of young Londoners at a time when friendships, identities and futures are all in motion.
